When you log into the forum, you'll see at top left "User CP" (Control panel settings, where you can edit your preferences). Pick "edit avatar" and you can upload a small pic from either the web or from a file on your PC.
Incidentally, unless a mod has moved your post into this section, I think really you posted this question in the wrong section. 'Operation Cover- Up' is a section into which older topics are moved
