Smile Convention 2010

What are other people's views on the announcement about the new convention? I think it's great news, it's been a long time since Sector 25! Hopefully by that time Gerry's next project will have been given the green light too, so maybe something to celebrate?

The conventions are great fun, the only problem is they go so incredibly fast.

Granted they are not cheap events to attend, especially when you factor in travel costs etc etc , but IMO they are well worth the cost. At at only con one every three to four years you do have plenty of time to save up for one.

I shall definitely be at the 2010 con, unless something drastic happens to stop me going.

I also plan on attending, looking forward to it already!

The only daunting prospect for me is that I'll probably be coming by myself next year (I'm sure that's something that puts off a lot of people), so if others will be in the same situation then it would be good to get to know some people on here first then all meet up at the con.

Maybe we'll need a separate thread for that?

This forum is an ideal place to get to know other members before attending a con, then you can go along knowing that you will not be alone when you are there as you are already acquainted with other like minded members, and at the very least you be able to put a face to the user name.

All being well I'd like to attend as well but like Achilles Messenger I'd be coming by myself. Anybody else on here from the Worcester area...

Can't wait, but don't know Bristol all that well. From what I can remember, the one way system is a nightmare!
