My wife and i will definately be attending the next convention. We will be coming from the North West, if anyone needs a lift we can manage two possibly three passengers. so if you need a lift and are close to the M6/M5 book your seat now.

I had to tackle York's one way system every weekend for 3 years when our daughter was at uni. So Bristol will be a doddle!!

Bristol doesn't really have a one way system, so it shouldn't be a problem. We will provide travel directions nearer the con.

In the meantime, I am happy to answer any travel quesitons anyone has.

It would be good if on the Con timetable we could have a Fanderson Forum get together perhaps in an agreed room inbetween other events. It would be nice to get to know everyone.

You may find the opposite to be true - I used to live in York and went back recently - it makes far more sense than Bristol !

It's pretty easy apart from a slightly tricky bit at the hotel.

You come off the motorway, and drive 5 minutes along the main road to the railway station. Easy. Then there's a big roundabout just before the station where you can see the hotel, but you can't exit to the hotel from it. You have to go past the station, turn round on the roundabout and come back.

I think a few people will get trapped circling that first roundabout trying to get to the hotel road (well, I did last time I was there ).

See what I mean ! Seriously though, it's probably no worse than many other cities, but it was much better before they redesigned the area in the centre to incorporate the millenium 'fountain'. Otherwise, if you've not been before, it is a great place to visit.

Maybe at the 2010 convention the producers of the new UFO movie will preview at least a trailer ...at most several rough cut scenes and the actors from the new 2011 film for a panel discussion.
