Whilst the wait for Series 2.2 drags on (I'm now not really expecting it until about Oct, which is when they started 1.2 and 2.1) I thought I'd at least add something to this thread.

Have to agree with a most of what Thunderbird 2 has said.

The CGI integration certainly seemed to get better, and at least they tried to do some "real" model work (though the good shots were then let down by things like the bobbing about TB-4, which lacked any sense of it actually having any weight).

There's been some good work with the central characters, but some odd things like the lack of many appearances of some of them.

I'd particularly agree with the lack of "proper" pod vehicles, and I'm also not overly convinced about how the "modular" ones seem to break and fall apart when put under any stress.

The main issue I have is that the stories seem to be all over the place - both the Hood and the Mechanic are supposed to be "master criminals" (for sake of a better phrase), yet seem to spend their time trying to steal odd items that never seem to have any purpose (the exception perhaps was the mechanic trying to get the prison plans in "City Under the Sea").

That said, there was the odd comment from the Hood in "Escape Proof" that the Mechanic was "two weeks late" - that struck me as a joke at first but since then I had an odd idea:

What if the original story arc idea was for the Mechanic to find the TV-21 and then use it to lift the cell out of the middle of the prison? - It would have been a neat plot twist to use some Thunderbirds releated tech to free the Hood, and it potentially makes more sense than the bizarre "Iridium vault" theft (which seemed a bit pointless - and massive let down from "Up From The Depths Pt1").

Can but hope that we get more of a proper story arc in Series 2.2 and less of the "comedy relief" characters and dialogue.
