Default New TB vehicle.

Saturnapolo asked a question in the thread titled Put your TB6 Comments Here, that I think is good enough to justify a thread of it's own. I've already posted my idea on the TB6 thread, it concerns re designing TB4. I wont go through it again, it can be read on the other thread. But has anyone else got any ideas? I think Saturnapolo has asked an excellent question.

Hmm.. it would be tricky to design a new Thunderbird machine. TB1-6 pretty much had every situation covered.
I can feel Brains' pain now

Thanks for starting a new thread John. Something I really should have done.

That was really my point. Not sure I could justify another TB.

I think we can forget TB6 as not really a TB. Not really needed. They could have done the same rescue with 4 pod vehicles with extending truss/poles at each corner to steady it and TB2 winch the passengers aboard.

No I really meant what new TB outwith the standard 5 Thunderbirds. John's idea of an upgraded and large TB4 is a viable idea.

If anyone on the forum with artistic ability wants to have a go at sketching my upgraded TB4, I would be honoured. My idea saw the front detachable section looking very much like the TB4 we all know, maybe just a bit more up to date, and the back larger section would be in keeping design wise with the front. The two in my minds eye would go together as well as Sky and Diver. And there would be a large space shuttle style cargo bay with all sorts of useful underwater rescue equipment, the water equivalent of TB2's pod vehicles, and a large sealed section where large amounts of rescued people would be safely kept. I'm a rubbish artist so I wont attempt it.

Possibly, but I never saw that series and know nothing about the look of the TB craft. In fact just about the only detail I know about it is one of the characters was called Dillon, if I'm even thinking of the right show. But I'll look out for the 2086 TB4 to see if it is similar.

I can certainly understand why TB4 was not a larger craft. Any sea going craft would take too long to get to the danger zone (only so fast such a craft could travel). The only way would be to air ferry it via TB2, so I can see why Gerry Anderson came up with a smaller craft.

However would be really interesting to see what a larger craft could look like.

I would like to have a go at drawing the TB4. Are there any drawings of it online anywhere or is it just the above description to go by?
