Fanderson members have a fantastic track record of raising funds for charities.
Our members have donated over £61,000 over the years to a variety of good causes, including Actors’ Benevolent Fund, Alzheimers Society, Baby Lifeline, Children In Need, Demelza, Diabetes UK, The Film And TV Charity, Guide Dogs For The Blind, Hearing Dogs For Deaf People, International Rescue Corps, Macmillan Cancer Support, Orchid, Silverline, Terrence Higgins Trust, Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal and many more.
Each autumn we ask our members to nominate charities that they think we might support. Charities can also approach us directly to be added to the list of nominations. We then ask all members to vote from the shortlist of charities, and the one with the highest number of votes becomes our charity for the coming year.
Our fundraising activities usually start with an advent calendar of raffles and auctions, and another similar event the following summer, but we also offer items in return for a charitable donation.
Our members nominated and then voted for Prostate Cancer UK to be our charity for 2025/6.
