(and UFOria 3 part 2 – Aliens’ Final Showdown)

The UFO 55th Anniversary Celebration and Location Tour

29th-31st May 2026

Join fellow Anderson fans for a convention and UFO filming location tour celebrating the work of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. Whereas Project Ford focussed on the area around Pinewood Studios, Project Johnson will take us to the locations from UFO first filming block, around Borehamwood.

UFO‘s very own Lieutenant Johnson, Ayshea Brough, has confirmed she’ll be our guest of honour for the event. Ayshea was incredibly popular at part 1 this October, so she’ll have more time to tell her stories about working on UFO, and beyond!

Alan Shubrook has prepared a unique souvenir brochure for the event. James Winch will again be bringing his SHADO Jeep, and we hope to convince some of our guests to take a spin in the car park! James, along with Mamas Pitsillis and Pete Hutton, will also be bringing some production models and studio standard replicas.

To celebrate what will most likely be the last UFO event in the UK, there will be a little party for a couple of hours on Saturday night. With the sounds of 1970 playing, you can dress in an appropriate style if you would like. Who knows, you may have a dance with Lt Johnson!

As anyone who’s been to either Hole In One or Project Ford will know, the team like to surprise everyone, so you can be sure of a great weekend.

Guests

What a fantastic weekend it’s shaping up to be! As well as guest of honour Ayshea Brough you can expect to spend time with Wanda Ventham (Colonel Virginia Lake), Tessa Wyatt (Catherine Frazer, The Long Sleep), Georgina Moon (Lt Sylvia Howell), Penny Spencer (SHADO Operative Janis), Gary Raymond (Colonel Grey, The Man Who Came Back), Alan Shubrook (special effects assistant and model maker) and John Levene (Interceptor Pilot, Close Up). As usual, all guest appearances are subject to personal, health or work commitments.

Fanderson merchandise

With so many great guests and other things to see and experience at Project Johnson, the regular Fanderson Sales team won’t be having a table there. However, our special offer on Fanderson Sales merchandise was for attendees ordering in advance, and we will bring their packages on the Sunday. This offer closed on Saturday 16th July 2026.

Accommodation

The event is taking place at Moor Hall, Cookham SL6 9QH (previously home to Gaumont British Animation Studios) where we have arranged bed and breakfast accommodation at the same price as for Project Ford, providing you book immediately – just £80 (single) or £90 (double) per night (sorry no twin rooms).

Email events@cim.co.uk with your accommodation request (don’t forget to say you’re attending Project Johnson/UFOria3 to get the special room rate) and a phone number so that Moor Hall’s events team can call you back to confirm your booking and take your card details over the phone to secure the booking. You will then be emailed a confirmation once the booking has been made.

Please do not contact Moor Hall reception, as these bedrooms are being managed by their events team.

Outline weekend schedule

  • All times are approximate, apart from the prompt 9:00am departure of the coach on Saturday morning.
  • All attendees will receive an event programme and a goodie bag, plus buffets on Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime.

Friday 29th May 18:30-22:00

17:00-18:30 Registration and Merchandise room open for attendees.

18:30-22:00 The event starts on Friday evening, celebrating The Model World Of UFO with Alan Shubrook. Alan will be answering questions in a Q&A session and revealing the new exclusive brochure he’s created for the event.

This will be followed by A Director’s View Of Aliens and UFOs, a great pre-recorded interview with legendary Anderson stalwart, director Alan Perry.

Beyond that, the evening can be spent meeting old and new friends in the bar, socializing or watching a UFO episode.

Saturday 30th May 9:00-15:00, then 17:00-22:30

On Saturday there will be a full day coach tour of filming locations used in UFO in the Borehamwood area. The coach will depart promptly at 9:00! There will be a short break during the tour, but at what time and for how long will depend on how well we’re getting around the locations. There may be a chance to grab something along the way but we really recommend taking a packed lunch so you can eat en route!

17:00-18:00 buffet evening meal, followed by an evening with Commander Johnson exposing the work of a SHADO operative.

20:00–22:00 Lift Off With Ayshea Ordeal party. Celebrate what will most likely be the last UFO event in the UK, dress in that 70s style for a few hours and enjoy The Ordeal Party, playing the sounds of 1970. Who knows, you might have a dance with Commander Johnson!

22:00-22:30 Commanders Ford and Johnson are together one more time to do battle and raise funds for the final obscure UFO collectable. Great fun and money raised for charity.

Sunday 31st May 9:00-18:30

Sunday is a full day at Moor Hall continuing our 55th anniversary celebration of UFO.

9:00 The Model World Of UFO – Alan Shubrook will again be answering questions in a Q&A session and he’ll have his new exclusive brochure on hand too.

10:00 Ayshea Brough starts the guest panels throughout the day, autograph signings, photo opportunities etc.

There will also be a fun quiz and a stall selling collectable memorabilia from all of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s productions.

We’ll have the six wheeled SHADO jeep, and there will be a limited first-come, first-served ride and photo opportunities in the jeep with one of the original UFO cast!

There will be a display of original models and scratch-built studio replicas from UFO.

Anyone taking advantage of our special offer on Fanderson Sales merchandise will be able to collect their packages during the day.

13:00-14:00 A buffet lunch will be served.

18:30 We’ll make our final goodbyes.
