Actor Bob Sherman died from pancreatic cancer on 30th August. Best-known to Anderson fans for his role as Alden Humes in the Space Precinct episode Body And Soul, he also appeared in uncredited roles in UFO’s Close Up (his screen debut as a NASA launch operative) and Space:1999’s Dragon’s Domain (the Space News newsreader), and can be heard narrating The Noble Art Of Fireball XL5 on A&E’s Fireball XL5 DVD set. A longtime friend of UFO star Ed Bishop, Sherman was seen alongside Shane Rimmer aboard the USS Wayne in the Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and took the regular role of Jeff Ross in Yorkshire Television’s The Sandbaggers. He also appeared in episodes of The Persuaders!, Quiller, Return Of The Saint and CI5: The New Professionals as well as feature films The Great Gatsby (1974), The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976) and Little Shop of Horrors (1986). His most recent role was as a television host in Hellboy(2004).
