Actor David Jackson died from a heart attack on 25th July, ten days after his 71st birthday. Best known for his role as DC Braithwaite in the BBC’s Z Cars series from 1972 to 1978, and then as the ill-fated Olag Gan in Blakes 7, Jackson also appeared in three roles in the second season of Space:1999 – as Alien Strong and the voice of the Judges in The Rules Of Luton and then as the voice of the Plasma Alien Leader in The Bringers Of Wonder part 1 and The Bringers Of Wonder part 2.
Early in his career, Jackson took roles in episodes of The Saint, Redcap and The Avengers and he also played four other parts in Z Cars prior to becoming a regular in the series. He was later seen in episodes of The Liver Birds, Thriller, The Sweeney, Minder, Cribb, Edge Of Darkness and Lovejoy. His feature appearances included roles in 10 Rillington Place(1971), Blood From The Mummy’s Tomb (1971) and The Big Sleep (1978).
