Lord Parker can now finally go on his ‘oliday, this evening saw the premiere of a brand new Thunderbirds advert on ITV. The advert is part of a campaign run by Halifax in which Parker finally experiences a change in fortunes by winning the top prize of £500,000 in the Halifax Savers Prize Draw Superdraw.
The advert made its TV premiere on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, and follows a series of Halifax campaigns in which the bank is visited by the Flintstones, Top Cat and Scooby Doo and the gang.
An original Lady Penelope puppet will go up for auction at Bonhams on 24th June. The puppet, which is believed to have been used during the production of the Thunderbirds series as well as the Thunderbirds Are Go and Thunderbird 6, has a guide price of £15,000 – £20,000.
It is believed that the body is an original AP Films / Century 21 production body, with original hip joints, while the hands may have belonged to the one of the Angels from Captain Scarlet!
Thunderbirds sculptors John Brown and Terry Curtis, and puppet operator Wanda Brown, have helped to catalogue this exclusive item.
Fanderson is thrilled to announce that Sylvia Anderson has agreed to appear in her first-ever Fanderson convention this October. Sylvia has expressed the view that she thinks The Future is Fantastic! will be ‘very special’, and now leads a formidable list of guests who will be appearing at the event.
Producer, writer and voice actress, Sylvia Anderson worked with her husband Gerry in the 1960s and 1970s to co-create most of the series and films that Fanderson celebrates today. She is famous for developing the characterisation and costumes of these productions – particularly in Thunderbirds, where she both voiced and designed the look of Lady Penelope. Fittingly, she is set to return to the new Thunderbirds Are Go as Lady Penelope’s Great Aunt Sylvia this year. She has also recently been developing a new animated series called the The Last Stationin collaboration with her daughter, Dee.

TV and radio presenter Chris Evans has launched a year-long fundraising campaign that aims to raise one million pounds for Breast Cancer Care with the help of FAB 1!
Lady Penelope’s famous car (a bespoke pink Rolls-Royce Ghost) will be driven by Evans and other celebrities in a point-to-point journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats. Evans will share the driving duties with Gary Barlow, Professor Brian Cox and James May, with pitstops in Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow en-route.
The FAB1 Million project aims to raise funds by making FAB1 available for hire on a daily basis to fans, with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Care. Standard charges are £5,000 inc VAT for a standard day and £7,500 inc VAT for a premium day, supplied with a full tank of fuel and professional chauffeur. FAB1 is ready to hit the road anywhere its passengers desire to go in the UK!

To sit alongside a replica Parker puppet owned by Gerry Anderson, Jamie is unveiling a Chris Evans-inspired Parker puppet (sculpted and built by Duncan Willis) created specially to celebrate the campaign.
