Supercelebration: Let’s celebrate The Sound of Silence!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Susan Jameson and Michael Jayston will be attending Supercelebration in September.

The pair starred as the ill-fated brother and sister duo, Anne and Russ in the classic UFO episode The Sound of Silence. Since then, they have made numerous film and television appearances between them, with Michael memorably playing the villainous Valeyard in the Colin Baker era of Doctor Who, and Susan playing the regular character of Esther Lane in New Tricks for over a decade.

Supercelebration is shaping up to be a real treat for fans of UFO, with Susan and Michael set to join fellow cast members Penny Spencer, Georgina Moon and Gary Raymond. And there could be more to follow…watch this space!

The convention takes place from 20th to 22nd September at the 2019 Holiday Inn, Maidenhead.

Tickets to Supercelebration start from just £65 per person for one day, or £110 for the whole weekend. In this challenging financial climate, we’ve managed to keep the ticket price the same as our Special Assignment convention in 2017. That’s because we’re a fan club and no one is taking a salary.

Supercelebration Treasure 2: Konami Thunderbirds, Scarlet costume and Harrops Mole

At Supercelebration we’ll be raising much-needed funds for our convention charity*.

Our generous friends, partners, licensees and club members have donated a raft of unusual and rare items which will all be going home with convention delegates as a result of our blind and live auctions, raffles and other activities during the weekend.

Supercelebration: ticket prices set to rise

Fans have until 1st April to register for Supercelebration before prices increase – and that’s no April Fools!

In this challenging financial climate, we’ve managed to keep the ticket price the same as our Special Assignment convention in 2017. That’s because we’re a fan club and no one is taking a salary.

Make sure you don’t miss out on these fantastic prices and secure your spot now…

Price increases

Members:
Saturday or Sunday only – £55 rising to £65
Full weekend – £100 rising to £110

Non-members:
Saturday or Sunday only – £65 rising to £75
Full weekend – £110 rising to £120

Traders rates will also rise in line with Members, but Supporting packages will remain at current rates.

This is shaping up to be one Super Celebration!

With 15 guests already announced and 6 months still to go, this is shaping up to be one of the biggest Fanderson conventions ever. There will be amazing art and model exhibitions, workshops, screenings, mouthwatering memorabilia auctions and raffles and much, much more…

UFO alert – Georgina Moon signs up for Supercelebration

We are thrilled to announce that Georgina Moon has agreed to appear at Supercelebration in September.

She joins fellow UFO cast members Gary Raymond and Penny Spencer, who she appeared alongside at Special Assignment in 2017, and becomes our 15th – yes, 15th – confirmed guest with over 6 months to go! Georgina played Skydiver operative Lt. Sylvia Howell in UFO, and also appeared in a number of Carry On films.

Dee Anderson to be our special guest Supercelebration

We are delighted to announce that Dee Anderson will be our special guest at Supercelebration in September.

The daughter of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, Dee was born in Mississippi, USA, before coming to London as a child, while her parents were producing shows such as Stingray, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet.

She has carved a successful career as a jazz singer, and will be appearing in London later this year with her band featuring the fabulous jazz pianist Isaac Asumadu.

She has also appeared in numerous UK theatre and television productions and has even voiced Lady Penelope in a national advertising campaign for Halifax.

We look forward to welcoming Dee to Supercelebration!

Judy Preece signs up for Supercelebration

Fanderson is delighted to announce that puppeteer Judy Preece has agreed to attend Supercelebration in September.

Judy worked as a puppeteer on Terrahawks, where she helped to craft the Supermacromation style of puppetry. She becomes the third member of the Terrahawks crew to confirm their attendance, following Terry Adlam and Gary Tomkins.

Gary Tomkins to appear at Supercelebration

Great news for Terrahawks fans! Art director Gary Tomkins will be joining us at Supercelebration in September. Gary started his career on Gerry Anderson’s Supermacromation series in the 1980s, before moving on to work on blockbuster Hollwood franchises such as Harry Potter and Star Wars.

Gary’s last Fanderson convention was The Future was Fantastic! in 2015, so we’re looking forward to catching up with him and of fellow Terrahawks colleague Terry Adlam.

Brian Johnson to attend Supercelebration

Brian Johnson at Fanderson's Special Assignment convention We are very happy to announce that special effects wizard Brian Johnson will be coming to Supercelebration in September!

All fans will be familiar with Brian’s work on Supercar, Fireball XL5, Stingray and Thunderbirds, as well as his most iconic Anderson creation, the Eagle Transporter from Space:1999. However, he has also contributed to many famous film productions, including 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien, and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. The latter two earned him much-deserved Oscar wins. Brian becomes our tenth confirmed guest, and we’re looking forward to welcoming him to talk about his work in Maidenhead – and answer all your questions!

Terry Adlam to appear at Supercelebration

Fanderson is delighted to announce that comedy writer Terry Adlam has agreed to attend Supercelebration in September.

Terry first worked for Gerry Anderson when he joined the visual effects team on Terrahawks, before going on to create, write and direct the stop-motion Dick Spanner series, narrated by Shane Rimmer (another name on our glittering guest lineup!).

Terry loves coming to Fanderson events to speak about his work with fans and has attended our last three conventions. As you’d expect from a comedy writer, he’s a very funny guy, (Mike Burrows has captured a rare serious shot of him here!). We’re looking forward to welcoming him to the stage once again to discuss Gerry Anderson’s revival in the 1980s.
