It’s Fanderson Day 2023!

Fanderson members know that it wasn’t just Gerry Anderson, or Sylvia Anderson, who made Thunderbirds, UFO, Stingray, DoppelgängerJoe 90, Space:1999, or any of our other favourite TV shows and films.

We know that there were also hundreds of technicians, puppeteers, writers, composers, designers, musicians, model-makers, voice artists, actors, directors, hair, make-up and wardrobe and many, many more who worked as part of the amazingly talented teams that Gerry and Sylvia recruited and nurtured to bring their creations to life.

They all deserve recognition for their wonderful work which is why, every year on Fanderson Day*, we celebrate all these very special people. Join us by commenting below**, or on social media, telling everyone who (on the Anderson productions) you think is special and why.

And, this being Fanderson’s 42nd anniversary, for today only you can save 42% off a range of 42 exclusive items of club merchandise – created by fans, for fans. From nearly 300 products we’ve picked those that represent not just the wide range of Anderson productions, but also those that perhaps only a fan club would be prepared to make – as a reminder why the club was created and is still so special today. *With so many people to recognise, celebrate and honour it’s appropriate to do it on the day Fanderson was formed by Gerry Anderson and ITC, with the explicit intention of celebrating and honouring Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s productions.

A little holiday reading – FAB Express 104!

Our summer mailing went in the post to all Fanderson members today.

FAB Express 104 should soon start landing in current members’ homes, and will be included in the welcome package for new members along with FAB Annual 2023.

As per our new membership package, all members are now invited to renew their membership in time to be included in the winter mailing. We’re planning for FAB Express 105 and FAB Annual 2024 to follow this November, to everyone who renews their membership in time. Please wait until you receive the summer mailing before renewing your membership, as the letter enclosed has full details.

As usual, as a new magazine is published, FAB Express 103 has now been added to the back issues on the club website. In case you’ve missed it, we’ve also taken the opportunity to simplify things and go back to our three-price structure.

Keep your eye out for the postie!

[RW] Changes to international shipping

Last year we introduced a new price band for shipping to the USA, as postage prices had risen so sharply to that territory. We subsequently added Australia, Japan and New Zealand as postage steadily increased to there too.

Now, the difference in postage to various territories outside Europe is once again negligible, so we’re simplifying things and returning to our former three options for postage and packing – UK, Europe, and Rest of the World. Most ‘Rest Of The World’ prices have stayed the same, though a few have changed a little (some up, some down). FAB Express 104 details all the new prices.

[UK] Sci-fi and fantasy at Cromford Mills Comic Con

Fanderson is delighted to, once again, be able to meet fans of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s work at this year’s event at Cromford Mills on Sunday 13th August.

Now entitled Comic Con, the event promises an intergalactic display of models, props, puppets and costumes from classic sci-fi productions of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Blake’s 7, Star Trek, Stranger Things, Star Wars… and beyond!

Fans of all ages are encouraged to dress up for the cosplay competition and explore the site showing off their creations. There will be stalls selling everything from comics and toys to replica props and clothing. They’ll also have photo opportunities, gaming, activities, Lego displays, and much much more.

It’s sure to be out of this world and a great day for the entire family – and entry is free! Come along to the Fanderson table and say “hello”!

Below photos are from previous events at Cromford Mills.
