Australia: Space:1999 on Blu-ray

Via Vision Entertainment’s label Imprint Television is bringing Space:1999 to Blu-ray Disc down under on 1st September!

Limited to just 2,000 copies, Imprint’s Space: 1999 The Complete Series Ultimate Edition features every episode digitally restored from the original 35mm elements, with an unrivalled collection of special features – including a 48-page booklet of articles on the series from Fanderson – all brought together in deluxe hard-box packaging.

Via Vision Entertainment (VVE) is a boutique, independent, Australian based DVD label. As well as British and American series, the Imprint Television catalogue includes such fondly-remembered Australian series as A Country Practice, Sons And Daughters, The Secret Life Of Us and The Young Doctors!

Silva Screen has announced their latest Anderson soundtrack releases, and you can pre-order them now from us at a great price!

Space:1999 Year One vinyl double LP features a selection of Barry Gray’s best music from the series’ first season, with Derek Wadsworth’s music getting the same treatment in Space:1999 Year Two vinyl double LP. For those wanting CDs (especially as the club’s 3CD Year One boxset is now long out-of-print), Silva Screen have gathered both albums together into the Space:1999 double CD.

As usual, the albums have been produced by Tim Mallett of Kindred Productions (who also produces our own exclusive soundtracks) and designed by Fanderson’s designer and FAB co-editor Mike Jones.

As a not-for-profit club, we’re able to offer these stunning soundtrack albums (as well as other Silva Screen vinyl LPs) to members at a very competitive price.

Silva Screen’s Space:1999 soundtracks are due to arrive early-August.

UK: Supercar in high definition!

Just when we were hoping that Stingray would be Network’s next Blu-ray Disc release, along comes Supercar to celebrate 60 years of Supermarionation!

Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s series has been remastered in High Definition from original 35mm film elements for this exclusive, deluxe limited edition Blu-ray.

Intrepid pilot Mike Mercury takes to the skies in his fantastical, jet-powered Supercar! With Professor Popkiss manning the console, and the eccentric Dr Beaker providing his customary blend of erudition and genius, the stage is set for a classic adventure series that blends action, humour and charm in equal measure!

As well as all 39 episodes, this special set includes Andrew Pixley’s book on the making of Supercar, a new comic, replica pilot’s license and badge, Full Boost Vertical documentary, audio commentaries by Gerry Anderson, archive and home home movie footage, and more…

THIS EPISODE: Your host Ros Connors is joined all the way from Australia by Gary Files, best known as the voice of puppets Captain Magenta (Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons), Black Phantom and Captain Foster (Thunderbird 6) and Matthew Harding (The Secret Service) but also numerous other voices in all three Century 21 puppet series, plus a guest spot as Phil Wade in UFO Identified.

Ros also welcomes Mark Anthony Craig, who most club members will know as the winner of Look-in’s 1977 competition to design a space city, but more recently has become known for his model dioramas.
