After 13 years of sterling service to club members, Jay Mullins has decided to step down from the Fanderson committee. On behalf of all club members, I’d like to thank Jay for his contribution to the club during that time, hope to see him again before too long, and wish him well for the future.
As a result of Jay’s departure, Fanderson is looking to recruit a club member to look after our Online Services (click here for a Role Outline). We’d like to hear from any club member who would be interested in the role.
Please email your CV to fanderson.org.uk@outlook.com with a covering letter explaining why you’re interested and what makes you perfect for the role. Experience of working with content management systems is essential (and WordPress and Woocommerce in particular is desirable), as is web hosting. Due to the nature of the role, applicants who can show experience of working in similar roles where security (including the secure handling of personal information) is an important factor will be looked on particularly favourably.
The closing date for applications was Sunday 18th July 2021, and selected applicants will be invited to a subsequent virtual interview shortly afterwards (by mutual arrangement).

Thunderbirds fans in Japan will be thrilled that the movies Thunderbirds Are Go and Thunderbird 6 are to be released in high definition on Blu-ray Disc by Happinet on 4th August 2021. The movies are accompanied by the Century 21 Slough documentary. Space:1999 Year One vinyl double LP features a selection of Barry Gray’s best music from the series’ first season, with Derek Wadsworth’s music getting the same treatment in Space:1999 Year Two vinyl double LP. For those wanting CDs (especially as the club’s 3CD Year One boxset is now long out-of-print), Silva Screen have gathered both albums together into the Space:1999 double CD.

Ewbank’s, the Surrey auction house responsible for the auction of items from Terrahawks, Dick Spanner and Space Police in November, held an auction of entertainment, memorabilia and movie props on 27th May, which including some more Anderson items.
Probably of most interest was Lot 248, a reproduction Joe McClaine puppet. Made by Century 21 sculptor John Brown in the early 1970s using the original moulds, the puppet is in full vintage costume on stand with plaque, with head and hands made of cast resin with glass eyes and real hair, approximately 17” high on stand. Hammer price £1,100.
Lot 245 was a set of 11 replica Thunderbirds heads made by Lee Allwood of Brian, Hank and Bruce from The Shadows (Thunderbirds Are Go), Hassan Ali (Desperate Intruder), Nicky (Give Or Take A Million), Rick O Shea and Loman (Ricochet), Hector McGill, Culp the Boatman and Mrs Files (Attack Of The Alligators), Lovegrove (Vault Of Death), each approximately 5×3.5×4”. Hammer price £100.
Lot 246 was a scale wooden table from the 1969 series The Secret Service. Hammer price £460.
Lot 247 was a decayed and rebuilt puppet head of Kate Kestrel used in the production of Terrahawks. Hammer price £75.
